My Web Presence

Googled myself today for the first time in ages. I had stopped searching "deirdre moore"a few years back when Google informed me that the only person Googling my name was myself. Sad.

I must say for someone who owns the domain name deirdremoore.com, I'm way down in the Deirdre Moores, beaten out by that harpist (she's technically Deidre Moore)
and soundly trounced by Deirdre Moore, the head coach of the Long Island University Basketball team.
So I'm this Deirdre Moore...

I love the gays:

and the homeless:

Me and the cool kid

Occasionally, just to keep myself humble (surprisingly hard to do, given how easy it should be), I'll click on the Next Blog link at the top of my blog. It's usually a stark gauge of my coolness, if you measure coolness as the people Google imagines you virtually hanging out with (and doesn't everyone). I'm usually sent to a blog for Mormon housewives trying to spice up their sex lives, or a Japanese teen who writes poetry through Google Translate, so between the shut-ins and the holy sluts that puts me pretty far down on the GCS (Google Coolness Scale).
But today, (oh happy day), I am suddenly put next to a cool kid. Maybe due to my recent frenetic blogging activity (a year and a half worth of blogs in 2 days) I am no longer a blogging loser. I get sent to http://romidion.blogspot.com/.
His last entry is how he did the poster for the latest Pixies tour. I mean really. Check ME out. (Wait, the Pixies are still cool, right? I mean they were 20 years ago...).

Still Hot!!

My sign says "Cougars Rule!" ('cause these guys behind me don't seem to get it). Happy birthday to me! Dinner with yummy cake and then off we go to see the ballet Giselle.

I love this city!!

I hadn't even parked the car in San Francisco when we spotted a man waking around naked - expect for his shoes (2) and socks (3). I'll spare you, dear Reader, the frontal shot ('cause you can't unsee the sight of his sparse grey hair sticking out the side of his sock) and give you the long angle (he's in front of that lady having a gander).
Head-to-toe Red, adorable man

It's hard to drive and take photos too

Santa Cruz Boardwalk

Am inspired by the sight of John and Liz riding backwards on the Rock & Roll to want to do a photo series entitled "Middle-aged Women Having Fun". Liz refuses to be my muse. "Everyone knows I never have fun" she demurs.

Highlight of the day was the double run through on the Giant Dipper, and then finally figuring out where the camera was.

Me getting a shock

Went to the new Exploratorium with the kids and some friends, we had great fun.
This is me, being filmed in slow-mo getting a fright.

What you can't see is that I also peed my panties.

My before picture

I decided to go on a diet, and like all good bloggers I wanted a "before" picture for the record. So here it is:

Now I know what you're thinking and you're right - I really do need to lose some weight from my boobs!

Keeping it real

Me: Do I look hot in this outfit?
Ciara: If by hot you mean red and sweaty, then yes, you look hot.

Happy Brthday Evan

Very busy day for Evan on his 8th birthday.

Up early to collect cans for Scouting for Food with the Boy Scouts.

The highlight of the day was our surprise visit to Tesla. The kids got to go for a burn in a beautiful orange convertible. We couldn't believe our luck!!
I decided to start a tradition of writing a poem for the kids' birthdays. Here is my limerick for Evan:
Evan@8
Now, this birthday's a bit sad for Evan,
'Cause turning eight doesn't rhyme like at seven
Said his mum, have no fears
Just wait three more years
It'll happen again at eleven.
And here is a haiku for Ciara:
When Ciara was eight years old
She loved all things pink
And animal soft toys- still does.
Evan's birthday theme was There will be Nerf. He designed and decorated his own cake.

Evan's 7 (and-a-half) Birthday Party

Better late than never. Threw a bash at Gold Star Gymnastics for Evan's birthday. Good fun was had by all (except probably the people who work there (who are very nice, BTW))

Super Tuesday Confusion

Evan : Mom...How many days is it until after Mitt Romney?
Me: What...what...what are you talking about?
Evan: Because after Mitt Romney it's 40 days until Easter.

Fencing

I finally took the kids to the fencing place on El Camino for the first of the set of introductory lessons. They both loved it.

Extra protein

Discovered during the washing-up (yes, after we had eaten the broccoli).
